We specialize in handcrafted, made-to-order cedar chests. Our quality and craftsmanship is unmatched.

The unique three-legged design of the Dowry Chest is complimented by a short skirt and a gentle cove that marks the transition between the bottom and the body. The lid is flat, creating a line of symmetry through the center of the chest.

In keeping with traditional designs, the Dowry Cedar Chest is also very tall. This done primarily to make the cedar chest easier to access bending over, but is also done to make it more visible by bringing the cedar chest off of the floor.

The Dowry Cedar Chest design is based on research in historical cedar chest patterns. It is representative of the gentle beauty and elegant functionality of a typical Dowry Chest made by Russian-German Mennonites. This was a cedar chest that would be used to hold a woman's prized possessions for her wedding day.
