Quarter Sawn White Oak Mission Hutch Details
Our mission servers stand 36" tall. A matching hutch is 30" tall at the base, 78" tall to the top.
Our mission dining room servers are individually handcrafted by Amish craftsman. Each server is created from 100% solid hardwood. We use only genuine hardwoods -- there is no pine, plywood filler, pressed wood, "select hardwoods" or veneers used in our mission hutches.
Quarter Sawn White Oak Characteristics
Quarter sawn white oak is cut against the grain to create a more varied appearance and texture. Quarter sawn white oak has more contrast in the grain than quarter sawn red oak, this constrast is often referred to as 'ray flake'.
White Oak is a solid, sturdy wood that is uniform in texture and color. Its grain is relatively large, and takes on colored stain quite well. With age, its color will change take on minor amber tones. This is a minor change in color. Its species name is Quercus Alba, and its Janka rating (hardness and resistance to scrapes, gouges and cuts) is 1360.

Shipping and Packaging
Our mission servers take 4-8 weeks to create. Shipping time is 1-3 weeks for delivery.
Dining servers are shipped via 'Inside the Home Delivery and Setup'. Please click here for more details on our shipping procedures.
9 times out of 10, our dining hutches are completed and delivered within this timeframe. However, true craftsmanship cannot be rushed -- sometimes a piece just takes a bit longer. Please let us know if there is an important holiday or event we should be aware of when you place your order, and we will do our best to get it there on time.
Hardware Choice
We offer several standard hardware choices: Standard Mission CMV 433, Rustic Mission CMV 407, Antique Rust A27005 ART and Oil Rubbed Bronze A04235 ORB. We can also install custom hardware if you send it to us.
Backboard
You may choose to have a backboard on your server, or to have a server made without one. You can see a photo of this difference by clicking here.
Wine Rack
We can add a wine rack to your mission server. A two-door server can hold up to two wine racks, a four-door server can hold up to four. This option looks best when one rack is added to the center of a three-door server, or two wine racks are added to the center of a four-door server. In order to house the 45 degree angle wine racks properly, some modifications to the proportionality of the piece may be needed (depending on the size of your piece). We will discuss this with you prior to making any changes, if they are needed. Here is a photo of a wine rack added to a mission hutch. Hutch wine rack.
Custom Sized Servers
We can also create custom sized servers, the sizes listed here are simply the most common sizes.
