Choosing a Wood Finish
If you're unsure about the finish for your hutch, we encourage you to order wood samples. Color accuracy on our website cannot be assured due to a number of variables including lighting, the camera used, and the settings on your computer monitor.
Hardware Choice
We offer three standard hardware choices: Mission, Rustic and Spindle. You can see photos of this hardware here.
Custom Hardware: If you would like to send us custom hardware, we can use that on your new piece. We can also order any hardware from the hardware distributors limited catalog (clicking on this link will open a new browser window).
It is important to let us know your choice as soon as possible when selecting custom hardware, so as not to delay delivery of your furniture.
In all cases, the appearance of the hardware may differ slightly on your piece. For example, we may need a vertical pull while the photo on the website shows a horizontal pull. The hardware will always be of the same color and style that you select, but the shape and size may differ to better match your furniture piece.
Lower Cabinet Wine Rack
We can add a wine rack to your shaker hutch. We will discuss the placement of the wine rack with you prior to beginning work on your piece. (This option looks best when one rack is added to the center of a three-door hutch, or two wine racks are added to the center of a four-door hutch). In order to house the 45 degree angle wine racks properly, minor modifications to the proportionality of the piece may be needed. Here is a photo of a wine rack added to a mission hutch.
Upper Cabinet Height
The upper part of the hutch is available in several different heights. Click here for a comparison photo. Full Height has glass doors running from top to bottom for maximum shelf area (with no open space at table height). 3/4 Height provides a 12" tall opening at the bottom for use as a serving or display area.
Beveled Glass
Beveled Glass is tapered in near the edges, creating a classic and distinctive look.
Upper Cabinet Interior Lighting
We can also add lights to the interior of your hutch cabinets, to help show off the pieces stored inside. Click here for a photo of hutch lighting and glass shelves.
Triptych Glass Pane
We can change the glass panels in your hutch to decorative triptych panels. This is generally done just to the top panel, not to the entire door. Prices listed above are for triptych panels in the top section of the hutch. Click here for a hutch triptych photo.
Upper Cabinet Shelves
Glass shelves are commonly added to the top of the hutch when lighting is added, to help show off the interior.
Shaker Hutch Arch
Our shaker hutches can have an added arch on the top, this arch is typically created in the same wood finish as the rest of the hutch unless otherwise specified (the photo shows two different wood finishes). Click here for a photo.
