Cedar helps keep moths and insects away from the contents on the bottom of your chest. If the majority of the contents of your chest may need protection from moths, we recommend choosing 100% Cedar for your whole chest.
If you don't like the Cedar aroma or have allergies to Cedar, Poplar is a great alternative and is a good replacement in terms of strength and durability.
Our chests arrive fully assembled and ready to use - there is no installation necessary.
The lid is attached at the back with brass-finish steel piano hinge and spring lid support for easy opening and closing.
The trim near the bottom goes all the way around the chest.
The lip of the lid is only in the front.
If you add a lock: it will be embedded in the front of the chest and it cannot be locked from the inside.
