Harmony Cedar: Shipping our Handcrafted Furniture

We have experience shipping Harmony Cedar furniture since 2001. We use several methods of furniture delivery. The method used is determined by the size of the shipment. Now is a good time to order to beat the Holiday rush. We can take your order now and ship in December for Christmas delivery!  Minnesota Twin Cities residents please ask about free delivery or pick-up in South St. Paul.

Free Shipping applies to 'Curbside' deliveries only.

Curbside with Liftgate: Deliverer takes shipment off the truck

In Home Delivery: Deliverer brings shipment inside

Small Chests

Important: Unpack and unwrap your chest right away to make sure the chest breathes and that no damage occurred in shipping.

For cedar chests 36" long and smaller, we generally use UPS. You will get a tracking number from UPS when the shipment is entered. The tracking number will activate when the item is shipped. We will notify you that the item has shipped. You can track the progress of your shipment on www.ups.com. Our chests are shipped directly from the farms where they were made. The are packed sturdily to withstand shipment. In the rare case of a chest breaking, you will have instructions on procedures for repair or replacement. This is the e-info you will receive after an order is placed:

We've set-up a UPS tracking# for your chest: [tracking number will show here].

With this tracking# you'll be able to track delivery progress of your chest via www.ups.com. Reminder that the UPS system can be confusing. Tracking# is rather like buying stamps necessary to mail a package. Your tracking# will not be activated to show shipping status until chest is actually picked-up and scanned into UPS system. The date currently listed for delivery is the earliest possible within UPS, not a guaranteed date. It is necessary for us to set up a tracking# prior to chest actually shipping. We will advise you when chest is in route.

UPS deliveries are curbside with liftgate and require signature.

Large Chests, Tables, Chairs and Beds

Important: Unpack and unwrap your chest right away to make sure the chest breathes and that no damage occurred in shipping.

For chest 42" or larger or bedroom or dining room furniture we generally use a common carrier (usually Ship USA or Estes) or an experienced local delivery driver from southeastern Minnesota. Sometimes one of our craftsman will go along for the ride to help deliver the furniture. When we use the common carrier, this is the type of email notification we will send to you:

Your chest is done. YRC Carriers, a subsidiary of ShipUSA, will be picking it up on Mon, the 29th.

Chest will arrive at their transport center, after which they'll contact you. If they said, "This was a five day transit", you can expect their call to arrange a curbside delivery time then.

Please be aware that you'll be assisting the driver in unloading chest. We suggest having an able-bodied person available. Chest with packaging is heavy, 125 lbs., and dimensions of 46"x23"x25". Happy Thanksgiving!

When ordering two or more chests, we are sometimes able to reduce shipping costs by packaging them together.  We may also be able to reduce costs by shipping business to business location.  Please call is a 1-888-959-8899 to see if we can help.

Shipping to Canada

Over the past 11 years, Harmony Cedar has shipped hundreds of orders to Canada. This includes shipments of wood samples and cedar chests via UPS; dining room sets and bedroom furniture via common carrier; and when needed, we use our personal delivery service. Harmony Cedar owns a delivery trailer and works with experienced drivers who know how to pack, handle, document and deliver furniture to Canada. As a member of the River Heights Chamber of Commerce, Harmony Cedar is able to obtain verification of Certificate of Origin paperwork needed for NAFTA certification.

We work with Advanced Global Transportation Technologies (A.G.T.T.) as our customs broker. Generally the receiver is responsible for any brokerage fees or GST. There should be no duty as we are NAFTA compliant and our products are 100% made in the U.S.A.

How does this work:  First, contact us about the furniture you would like to purchase and the ship to location.  We will then contract or broker and check on various shipping options in order to get the best option available for price and timeliness.  We would email you quotes and options for you to decide on the purchase.  We are currently able to deliver for Boxing Day.
