Amish Handcrafted Cedar Furniture

100% Solid Cedar

Red Cedar is cut and harvested as a light red color, but darkens to dark reddish-brown with a bit of time and sunlight. This color change is substantial. Its species name is Juniperus Virginiana. Its Janka rating (hardness and resistance to scrapes, gouges and cuts) is 900.

Red Cedar is varnished (but not stained) to finish the exterior of our 100% solid cedar chests, allowing the natural coloration to come through.
